My poor little boy got his first "noticeable" pump knot on his forehead today. He was trying to put the channel changer on the entertainment center when he lost his footing and fell - hitting his noggin. His forehead has four bruises right across from each other - the other three from other random falls. I told Ryan today that people are going to start thinking we are dropping him on his head!

He recovered quickly after eating his favorites - grilled cheese and grapes!

and playing with his new toy that Tammy bought for him on his birthday! He loves bouncing on this pony and gets a huge grin every time.

and here is our highlight of the weekend.. something about a baby all out laughing just makes your day.

Myrtle Beach Summer Trip!

A long over due post is finally here! I wasn't into blogging too much while on vacation and then came home to no Internet! It's finally fixed today - had something to do with the line outside. It's nice to have it back either way.

Our vacation at my parents was absolutely wonderful. The weather was gorgeous with only two cloudy days and Caden sure did enjoy the pool and beach! It took Caden about two days to warm up to my parents and their home. The first day was madness. Caden had to hold onto me EVERY second. I couldn't move an inch from him or he would start crying. I was worried how the trip would pan out, but Caden made himself at home. Before we knew it he was following around his Grandpa and gesturing for Grandma to pick him up. I was relieved to say the least.

We spent most of our days at the pool and made a trip to the beach when Ryan flew in. He could only stay a few short days, but at least we were able to fly home together. Ryan was able to get a couple days of golf in too, which I know he really enjoyed.

Just a few updates on Caden - he is doing great! Active as ever!! He sure wears me out somedays. He started running while we were on vacation and says a new word: "Duck". Being with him for 10 straight days was awesome. I could not believe how much Caden really understands. He probably understands more than he leads on as well.

Have I mentioned how much this boy LOVES to be outside? Every time I put his shoes on Caden would get so excited. He would run around the kitchen and then into the utility room where the door leads to the garage at my parents. He knows that shoes means he gets to go outside.

Here are some GREAT pictures from our vacation!

Hey Mom! I can't see under this hat!

Taking a snooze... he also slept through the night at my mom's house every night, which I did not expect.

Getting into the cupboards as usual...

Checking in from our vacation

We just wanted to check in from our vacation visiting Grandma and Grandpa! We had a good flight in last Thursday, but man was it early! Our flight took off at 6:05am! The good thing is we had a whole day here on Thursday. Caden did really well on the flight. He was a little antsy at first, but I don't blame him. He fell asleep as we were taking off and woke up as we started to descend - the usual. The girls behind us were eating him up too! I swear this boy is a chick magnet. Haha! He is going to be a heart breaker - that's for sure.

Caden took about 3ish days to warm up to Grandma and Grandpa. Now he is following Grandpa around the house and reaching his arms up to be held by Grandpa. He cried yesterday when my mom went out the garage door. She was getting his stroller to take him for a walk while I relaxed on the couch.

We have been spending most of our afternoons at the pool. Caden just loves the kiddy pool. He floats around in his raft playing with his toys like he has no care in the world. He is not fond of the big pool though - even with Mommy holding him.

Hanging out with Mommy at the pool....

Swim Time!

Our weather was gorgeous this past Friday, so I thought I’d see how well Caden would do in the kiddy pool – seeing how we are leaving for Myrtle Beach this Thursday. I bought a small plastic pool for Mia a few years back, but I do plan on getting a different pool for Caden at some point. Either way, he LOVED the pool. I probably should have filled it up even more, but I wasn’t sure how he would react. You can see from the first pictures he was just in heaven to be outside in his pool. Have I ever mentioned how much this child LOVES to be outside? Bringing him inside when outside fun is over is always a challenge.

He eventually learned to climb in and out of the pool all on his own and did this several times in a row. In and out, in and out, in and out. We spent close to 2 hours outside and I even got a little sun burned. I protected my baby with sunscreen and you would have never known he was in the sun.

For some other updates on Caden – he now has a 4 word vocabulary:

“Ma-ma” – he mostly says this at random or when he is hungry and I’m fixing his food.
“Doggy” – EVERYTHING was a doggy for many weeks – from his waking moment until after his night time bottle he would be yelling “doggy”.
“Daddy” – Finally. He does call Ryan Daddy – it very sweet.
“Kitty” – when he sees our cat, Belle, he yells “kieey”..

We are down to one bottle a day at bed time and he seems to be doing very well. He drinks his (cold) milk out of the hard blue and green Platex sippy cups- that we received for FREE in the mail. Go figures I buy every type of sippy cup out there and he does the best with the free one.

Caden's first haircut!

Caden had his first haircut on Saturday! My best friend's sister (who also does my hair) was very gentle. She only took off a little length in the back and over his ears. He STILL has his curls! Yay! The picture doesn't show his curls, but they are still there. Caden was a complete angel as well. He played with a few combs and ate some cheerios during the whole 5 minute ordeal.
