bath time with caden...

One of our favorite times of the day is after bath time with Caden. He loves his baths, but not so long ago he would fight them with all his might. I'm so happy he is back to loving them and he even lets his Daddy bathe him. Before he would ONLY let me give him a bath, but thankfully he has grown out of that too.

Why is bath time our favorite time with Caden? Because he is just too darn cute when bath time is over.

*sigh* I know he will grow out of this too and won't say bye to the "shoap", "wawer" or "toys" any longer. I just LOVE this age with Caden and I wish I could freeze time with him. IHowever, I am thankful to do this all over again with Adisyn and can't wait to see her personality develop as she grows.

cupcakes

I took the opportunity this morning (since Ryan was home) to spend some one on one time with my little man. I'm a germophobiac (if that is even a word), so I won't take him to public play areas during the flu/cold season. In Caden's world I'm not the play/rough houser anyway - that's Daddy's job.

I thought we could make cupcakes together. I knew we wouldn't get through it without tears from Caden, but we did it anyway. He had one breakdown (because he wanted the open jar of sprinkles), but after some cuddles and some talking by his Mommy he made a quick recovery.

I did let him help stir the batter, but after one fling of the whisk and cake batter everywhere - I took over and gave him some sprinkles to play with.

and it's time to dig in!
We had fun, but I don't think I'll try this again until he is a little older. Too much mess for me!

adisyn's 1 month appointment

Our little peanut is not so little anymore! Well, I take that back. She is still little - just not so little. Today was her one month check up and she weighs 7lbs 8oz! She has gained 3lbs since birth. I cannot believe it. She is also 19 inches (2 inch growth since birth) and her head circumference is 13 inches (1 inch growth).

It's crazy to think that she weighs 1oz more than Caden did at birth.

Way to go Adi! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you.

On a not-so-good note, she may have a cold. The doctor said her throat is a little red and she has been congested. Caden is just getting over his cold and now Ryan has one. It's circulating through our house. Ugh.

caden's sleep arrangements

Ryan and I have been contemplating on whether or not to transition Caden to his toddler bed before our move. If he adapts well to his toddler bed, we can set the crib up in Adisyn's own room when we do eventually move. I just worry he may not like a toddler bed or won't feel a sense of security in it. He does so well in his crib and seems happy to be in there. We have not had to deal with any climbing out of the crib up to this point and would like to avoid that if possible.

I wonder if he would sleep in the right place of his new bed - not like he does in his crib? This is where he ends up EVERY night and after his nap. Gotta love him!

Oh, and Caden - the playmat you are sitting in... I brought that out for your sister to lay in. It's not a seat for you to plant your bum with all your toys and watch cartoons. Since you love it so much, you can keep it until your sister kicks you out.

Happy 22 months my lil man.

Love,

Mama

Can you believe I'm already one month old?! I can't believe it either! I spent the first half of the month sleeping and barely crying. I think Mommy and Daddy thought I was going to be a laid back easy baby. Little did they know I was just sleeping to catch up on my growth. I'm having more and more awake time and I like someone to hold me ALL the time. I think it drives my Mommy a little crazy sometimes because she has to take care of my big brother too and she doesn't have eight arms to manage us both some times.

I'm still trying to figure out what is going on in my new world, but I mostly just eat, sleep, cry and poop these days. I wake up every 3 hours during the night to eat and my Mommy seems to have more patience when I do that. She is kind of crabby if I wake up every 30 minutes, which I try not to do very often.

Oh, and I live with this really noisy boy that Mommy says is my big brother. He is kind of annoying when I'm trying to sleep, but Mommy says we'll be good friends one day. Um, okay. Whatever you say Mom.

See how much I've grown? I'm about the size of a full term newborn baby now (so my mom says). I have a few chins and before I only had one. I graduated from preemie clothes (within 2 weeks of birth) and I'm now sporting newborn size.

I'll check back later when I've figured a few more things out in this thing called life.

snow day

We had our first real snowfall on Wednesday and Caden had so much fun! He was having a ball watching the dog (who is MIA in the pictures) chase around Daddy.

Although the snow was pretty - I'm still ready for spring!

caden's first "real" haircut......

My first born's hair is all gone! Caden had his first real haircut on Sunday. Although I did not agree to this haircut I am happy about it now. I do still miss his long wavy hair, but he looks so grown up now and it's so much easier to wash and rinse. My BIL and *dear* husband thought a good time to buzz Caden's hair was while I was locked in a room (for privacy) to nurse Adisyn. Poor Caden was traumatized and would NOT leave my side after his haircut.

See all this hair?

"all done" as Caden would say.

Adisyn is doing great. She is approaching her 1 month birthday already. I can't believe it. I am anxious to get through the next few months where she'll be (hopefully) sleeping better. She doesn't sleep too bad, but she sure makes a lot of noises while she is sleeping which keeps her mommy up. I think I'm averaging about 5-6 hours of broken up sleep a night. This will be less once I go back to work, which I'm dreading. I do not function well on no sleep. I'm an emotional wreck on the bad days and cry almost all day long. Thankfully we have more good days than bad.
Don't you just love this cute little face?!
