Trip to Myrtle Beach and more!

I know... I've been slacking. I haven't had much time on the computer for "free time". I have been messing with my blog trying to get a new layout, but I keep receiving some stupid message, so I'm waiting for blogger support to fix it. So for now I'm using a different template (which is boring I know). In midst of trying to upload a new template I lost some things on my blog including pictures, my blog list and Caden's milestones. I'm working on adding them back (hopefully I will get that done before bed).

Enough with the boring stuff - let's talk about Caden! We have lots of new things going on with my little boy. We'll start with teeth! That's right, not a tooth - teeth. His front two bottom teeth cut over the last week. He was so miserable the two days these came through. I felt so bad for him. It's too bad moms can't take away this pain from them. I would endure all of the pain he would/will suffer in life as I'm sure most moms would.

Let's see... I'll just make a little list of all the other new things going on with Caden.

~He is growing more hair
~Sitting up better, but still assisted
~Stares at Mommy and smiles when I realize he is staring at me (this just melts my heart)
~Recognizes his name
~Scooches around on belly and can do a complete circle
~Puts his butt up in the air while on tummy (getting ready for crawling!)

Caden also went on his first airplane ride the 1st. Caden and I took a trip to Myrtle Beach to visit my parents for about a week. He did really well on the plane. Our flight there was very early and our flight home was way past his bedtime, so he basically slept the entire ride. He did cry hysterically when we first boarded both times because he was exhausted beyond means, but he did fall alseep as we were taking off. Every time the flight attendants or the pilot would talk his eyes would pop open, but he would drift back off into lala land. Our flight home was delayed and we didn't get home until after 1 in the morning. We were exhausted needless to say.

Our trip was great. Caden met his Grandpa for the first time and Grandma got to feed him breakfast and dinner every night. They both miss him and his singing in the morning. My mom can't believe how happy he is in the morning. Unlike his Mommy and Daddy. Ha! Caden woke up every morning around 5:30am - after waking up a few times during the night. He would wake up the whole house with his singing. I guess Kaysea (my parents dog) slept in the day after we were gone. Here are a few pictures from our visit (There are more pictures in my Photobucket account - just click on Photobucket Pics and view them under Caden 5 months). We took Caden to Ripley's Aquarium and the beach. It was beautiful weather. I forgot sunscreen for Caden, so our trip to the beach was short lived.

Happy (belated) 5 Months!

Caden turned 5 months on Wednesday the 17th. I usually like to post on his "birthday", but things have been so hectic at work and at home. I feel like I am always on fast forward these days. I guess that is life though, right?

Well, my baby boy is growing up! I can't believe it's been 5 months already. He is still trying to figure out how to roll from his tummy to his back. He is getting closer, but I think it is just easier for Mommy to roll him back over. Haha! The only new thing he has discovered is putting his toes in his mouth! It's so stinkin' cute! He started doing this 1 day before he turned 5 months. He is also getting a little better with sitting up. We still have to sit behind him so he doesn't fall over, but I think he'll be sitting up on his own in no time. Caden is still sleeping pretty good throughout the night. He is waking up 1-2 times, which isn't bad considering what he was going through.

He's eating solids twice a day. Cereal and fruit in the morning and cereal and veggie in the evening. He doesn't always eat too much cereal, so that is why we offer it twice a day. He prefers his fruits and veggies. Oh, and he is does not like peas or green beans. He gags when I try feeding it to him. I've read that most moms give up after offering rejected food after 3 tries, but a study shows that 70% of babies will end up liking it after 7-8 times. I'm going to hang in there a few more times and hope he'll eat his greens.
Caden and I are heading to Myrtle Beach on the 1st of October to visit my parents. Think of us and keep your fingers crossed Caden does well. I'm a little nervous, but hoping he will sleep the whole plane ride. We have an early flight there and a late flight home.
I had a little scare last night, but thankfully it was a false alarm. Caden's Angle Care Monitor system alarms if the sensor does not feel movement within 15 seconds including breathing. At 10:30pm last night I woke up to the alarm. I thought it was my wake up alarm and kept hitting it trying to turn it off. I opened my eyes wondering why the darn thing wouldn't turn off and I saw the monitor lighting up. I flew down the stairs so fast - I'm surprised I didn't fall. I scooped Caden up out of his crib and he pulled his eyes open - probably thinking what on earth are you doing Mom! He was laying so close to the end of the mattress, so I'm assuming the sensor pad couldn't feel him. Talk about your heart coming out of chest - I was so scared, but relieved it was a false alarm.

I will be adding some pictures to month 4 and month 5 soon. Be sure to check them out! I almost forgot. Look what Caden was voted as in our playroom online :)

Happy 5 months baby boy! I love you!
