Caden has fallen back to his pattern of not wanting to sleep in his own room this past week. He was doing so awesome the week before after we did CIO. I am clueless at how things can change over night.
Monday night Caden went down with no problem, but woke up at 4am Tuesday morning. Of course, the day I have to go back to work after a long extended weekend. I tried letting him cry, but it was no use. An hour later I needed to start getting ready for work, so I just got him up with me. (Getting ready for work with a toddler is quite interesting! He does like to stand in front of the mirror and brush his hair like Mommy.)
Tuesday through Friday we let him CIO for bedtime. I thought the crying would get better reach night, but it last approximately an hour each night. I will have to say that this crying was not as bad as the first time I ever attempted CIO. He was not gagging or hysterical by any means. He was crying with more breaks in between. He even fought me on his nap Friday, but only cried for 25 minutes, so that was some improvement.
Last night he only cried for 20 minutes, so FINALLY we are making some progress. From all I've read on-line this process can take up to a week. I guess I was lucky the first time around when he cried for only 2 nights.
